Q & AN4H
Q What is your charity’s unique mission and program?
A Notes4Hope (www.notes4hope.org) is a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organization that produces music and concerts to raise money and build awareness for breast cancer research and prevention. The goal is to educate the community on ways to regain and maintain health in order to keep breast cancer from occurring or reoccurring.
Q How did you establish your charity?
A I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in April of 2011 and with the incredible support from my friends and family, I survived an over 2-year fight against breast cancer. It was after my significant other planned a surprise “FUCANCER” party for me (which included a live band with many friends and family), that we decided to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer by planning more concerts. We went through the many steps to establish Notes4Hope (formerly Notes4Notes) as a 501(c)3 organization. We utilize music and concerts in order to build a community in which to provide education on health, wellness and disease prevention. We support organizations that align with our mission of prevention - including removing toxic chemicals from our environment, how natural/clean food is healing medicine, stress reduction, and so much more.
Q How will your charity use contributions from BRBF Infinity?
A Notes4Hope operates as a pass-through nonprofit, wherein we raise money and donate to other worthy nonprofits that align with our mission - breast cancer research and prevention. With that said, we would like to continue to partner with like-minded nonprofits, and we would also like to establish wellness packages and scholarships for women recovering from breast cancer. Contributions from BRBF Infinity can go toward establishing these efforts.
Q What is your ultimate dream in regards to your cause?
A The ultimate dream would be to transform how we approach health care. Right now, health care is a misnomer. America actually addresses illness, not wellness. I would like everyone to have access to wellness practices and holistic methods of treating and preventing breast cancer.
Q What outcomes has your charity seen through its work?
A For each event, Notes4Hope handpicks a beneficiary in alignment with our mission, to create a movement focused on preventing breast cancer and its recurrence. Although the focus is on prevention, the wellness principles that are promoted are transferrable to overall disease management and prevention. Some of our beneficiaries include: San Francisco-based Breast Cancer Fund which is the leading national organization working to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposures to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease. And Ceres Community Project who build healthy communities by restoring fresh, whole and organic food to its place as the foundation of health, and by connecting people in heart-centered ways to themselves, others and the earth.
Q How can BRBF Infinity convey your message to get people involved. How can people get involved in your cause?
A We need volunteers at our concerts, people to come and support us at our events in the Bay Area, and for buyers to purchase with a purpose on items that support us here on BRBF.
Q How much of the money BRBF raises for you, will you give back to the actual cause?
